Introduction

KeyStore (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an offline password manager that respects your privacy. The App is designed to work completely offline and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us. All of your credentials are encrypted and kept on your own device. By using KeyStore, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Everything you store in the App (such as website names, usernames, passwords, URLs, and notes) is saved only on your device inside an encrypted vault file. We have no access to this data, your master password, or the contents of your vault at any time.

How Your Data Is Protected

Your data is protected by strong, industry-standard cryptography that runs entirely on your device:
- Your vault is encrypted.
- Your master password is turned into an encryption key, a memory-hard key-derivation function.
- Your master password is never stored anywhere and never leaves your device. It is the only key to your vault.
- The decrypted contents of your vault exist only temporarily in your device's memory while the App is unlocked, and are wiped when the App is locked or sent to the background.

Important: Because we never receive or store your master password, we cannot recover your vault if you forget it. Please keep your master password safe.

Biometric Unlock

If you choose to enable biometric unlock (fingerprint or face), the App stores your vault's encryption key inside your device's secure hardware storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), protected by your device's own biometrics or PIN. This information stays on your device and is managed by your operating system. We never have access to it. This feature is optional and can be turned off at any time.

Data Storage

Since no data is collected by us:
- We do not process your personal data.
- We do not store your data on any servers.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
All core functionality, including creating, viewing, editing, and generating passwords, operates entirely offline on your device.

Export, Backup & Import

You may choose to export a backup of your vault. The exported file is already encrypted with your master password before it leaves the App, so it stays protected even if you store it in cloud storage, email, or another location of your choosing. Any decision to export, move, or share this file is entirely under your control, and you are responsible for keeping the exported file safe. Importing a vault file also happens locally on your device and requires the correct master password.

No Tracking or Analytics

The App does not use any tracking technologies, analytics tools, cookies, or similar mechanisms. We do not monitor your usage behaviour or collect any usage statistics.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, APIs, or external servers for its core offline functionality. No user data is transmitted to any third party. Biometric authentication and secure key storage are provided by your device's operating system (Apple / Google) and are governed by their respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected or transmitted by us, the App is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the relevant page and updating the "Last updated" date.
